Flood Cleanup Volunteers Needed

Need volunteers to assist with flood cleanup efforts on your property?  Want to do something to help with flood recovery efforts?

There are a variety of ways our community can come together to support each other in the cleanup and recovery process.

To Request Volunteer Assistance

Private property owners/managers in need of assistance should contact the Scott County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Volunteer Hotline to request assistance. The Volunteer Hotline will need a description of the assistance needed, location, and the date/time volunteers are needed when the request is placed.  Once the request is received, the EMA will work to coordinate volunteers with those needing assistance.

9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

To Volunteer

The City is currently assembling a calendar for riverfront recreational location debris removal and cleaning needs (LeClaire, Park, Centennial Park, Marquette Off-Leash Dog Park, Recreational Trail, etc.) based on river levels and other factors.

All of the current opportunities are considered more heavy duty in nature and will require bending and lifting.  The City provides necessary personal protective equipment such as impervious gloves, cotton gloves, comfort/dust mask and other equipment needed to clear debris.  Volunteers will need to wear long pants and closed toed shoes or rubber boots and be prepared to get dirty for a worthy cause.

(8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Monday through Friday)

Volunteers are also needed to assist private property owners with cleanup, and for cleanup in other areas of Scott County. To volunteer in these ways call the Scott County EMA Volunteer Hotline at 563.484.3086 - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

More opportunities will arise as the river continues to recede.  Be on the lookout for more information on an XStream Cleanup Flood event to be held on Saturday, June 8th
