Police Explorer Program

THE DAVENPORT POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE EXPLORER PROGRAM

The Davenport Police Department has been a proud sponsor of the Explorer Program for over 30 years. The program and activities are directed by the Explorers under the supervision of department personnel. The Davenport Police Department has created an environment that allows the youth of the program to take the initiative and become responsible leaders in the community.

WHAT IS THE EXPLORER PROGRAM?

The intent of the Davenport Police Department’s  Explorer Program is to educate and involve the youth in police operations and to interest them in various law enforcement functions. Through hands-on involvement, the Explorer Program establishes an awareness of the complexities of police service.  Along with gaining a working knowledge of police work, Explorers will have the opportunity to apply this knowledge throughout the community. The Davenport Police Department’s Explorer Program provides never-ending opportunities and experiences that will benefit the Explorer, the Police Department, and the City of Davenport and its citizens.
