3 Things to Know – March 3 Council Cycle

March 2, 2021 – City Council will continue discussing the proposed rezoning request at 4607 East 53rd Street to C-2 Corridor Commercial District and R-MF Multi-Family Residential District with the Ordinance moving to second consideration. Due to the current protest rate being over 20%, 8 yes votes are required for the Ordinance to continue to the next cycle; however, the developer has been working diligently with the neighbors to address their concerns.

City Council will consider a Resolution that would approve the contract for the construction of the Davenport Fire Department Training Center behind the Public Works Facility to Reed Construction LLC of DeWitt, IA. The contract includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for construction. The location has been graded and is ready.

The Redstone and Harrison parking ramps could see the installation of security cameras. If the Motion passes, Davenport Electric Contract Company would install cameras in the Harrison parking ramp and Tri-City Electric would equip the Redstone parking ramp.
