the river's edge temporarily closed!
Effective 9/11, The River’s Edge Ice Arena is closed temporarily for 4-5 weeks for facility maintenance. Closing the facility allows the City to work with contractors to address the facility issues and get The River’s Edge back into operation as quickly as possible.
During the facility closure, Parks and Recreation customer service will move to the Fairmount Community Center (2980 N. Fairmount St.) with reduced customer service hours.
Updated Customer Service Hours:
Monday-Thursday 11AM-6PM
Friday 11AM-4PM
NEW PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT!
Staff will begin visiting parks during the after school hours setting up activities, games, and other fun experiences designed to give kids an open place to play independently and connect with friends after school putting a different spin on outdoor recreation!
Each week will have a different theme - Sport, Arts & Crafts, Performing Arts, and Environmental Education
Mondays-Thursdays (excluding Labor Day) 9/8-11/5 | 4:30PM-6:30PM (weather and sunset dependent)
Locations:
• Mondays: Emeis Park (4500 W. Locust St.)
• Tuesdays: Herington Park (935 Brown St.)
• Wednesdays: Goose Creek Park (6000 Scott St.)
• Thursdays: Cork Hill Park (1100 Farnam St.)
