The City of Davenport is proud to announce a new initiative to honor the men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces, both past and present. The Veterans Tribute Banner Program allows people to sponsor a banner featuring a veteran or active-duty service member, including their name, photo, and branch of service.

HOW IT WORKS
Those interested in the program must fill out an application and submit their form of payment. Thirty (30) slots are available and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Spots will be reserved in the order that application is completed and payment submitted. The application period will be open from Monday, February 9 until Monday, March 9.

Banners will hang from Memorial Day to Veterans Day (one year). After the program ends, the sponsor will receive the banner to keep.

QUALIFICATIONS
To qualify for the Veterans Tribute Banner Program, the following criteria must be met:

• The honoree is an active-duty member of the United States Armed Forces; OR 
• The honoree is a retired or honorably discharged member of the United States Armed Forces

LOCATION
The banners will be displayed on light posts on the path along the Davenport riverfront stretching from the area near Veterans Memorial Park to the Centennial Bridge.

COST
Sponsorship of each banner costs $150 which includes the design, printing, and installation. A portion of the costs will be donated to the Friends of Veterans Memorial Park.

BANNER INFORMATION
Each banner measures 18”x 36”, including:

• Honoree's name and rank
• Military photo
• Branch of service 
• Years of service 

PHOTO REQUIREMENTS
All photos must be of the service member in their official uniform.
